Rocky Gorge Reservoir, Maryland - Located on the Patuxent River in Howard County, Montgomery County and Prince Georges County, Maryland, Rocky Gorge Reservoir lies near the town of Burtonsville. It was created in 1952 by the construction of the T. Howard Duckett Dam by the Patuxent. Visible from Interstate 95, near mile marker 34, Rocky Gorge Reservoir is sometimes referred to as "T. Howard Duckett Reservoir". Surface area of the reservoir is around 770 acres.
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission provides recreational facilities to the public on sections of the Rocky Gorge property. These include hiking, picnicing, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and hunting. Fish that are know to be in the reservoir are Pike and Largemouth Bass.
